English translation: Revised Version with Apocrypha (1894 to 1895), via the eBible.org USFM bundle. Public domain. The Revised Version is used here in place of the King James Version because the KJV omits the long fragment 2 Esdras 7:36 to 7:105 that was rediscovered by Bensly in 1875 and is present in the Ethiopian Tewahedo text. Translated from the Latin Vulgate (with Syriac and Ethiopic witnesses), not from Ge'ez. The Ethiopian Tewahedo 2 Ezra Sutuel descends from a related but distinct textual tradition.
